3/26/10

We had our 34 week appointment on the 24th & things are still progressing perfectly. No contractions. I know it may sound a little odd, but I guess part of me was anticipating 34 weeks as some momentous occasion; as one would anticipate a birthday or grand event. "The day has arrived...where's the climax? Isn't something amazing supposed to happen?". Part of me was hoping that the end was in sight. Well, 34 weeks came & went. Of course, I share this feeling with Dr.Z & he understood, but reminded me that the twins will come in God's time. It is difficult to imagine my skin stretching beyond what it already has & being this uncomfortable for who knows how many more weeks. I think I still have a while yet. Perhaps they will be 7 pounders? WOW! Few things comfort me at this stage...sweat pants, Ian's t-shirts, and getting in the pool to float the 3 of us. I spend most of my time in a reclined position. My feet are huge & sore, but I still try to stay mobile for as long as possible. We go in again for an extensive check up on Tuesday the 30th. I'm anxious to see them again!

I know that I am blessed and have a lot to be thankful for!! Pray that I will focus on these things as we near the last few weeks. I praise the Lord for His perfect plan!!

Sold!!

We sold my Pontiac today (19th). I am so thankful, but I will also miss her. She was a really good, reliable vehicle that Ian bought for me 6 months before we were married. We traded it in for a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with 38,000 miles. We will have enough room for the twins & then some. It is also amazing that we will not have a car payment because the Tahoe was previously owned by Ian's parents. We basically swapped vehicles & they will be putting the money from the Pontiac towards their new vehicle. It is just one more way that we feel more prepared for the twins to come. God's provision is so incredible! "Every good and perfect gift is from above..." Jas.1:17a. We are blessed!!

32 week update

Had another twin appointment yesterday. Thank the Lord for another great report! Doc says we're doing well. We're right on schedule & shouldn't have a problem making it 2 more weeks.

Twin status: Twin A is 4 lbs. 1 oz with a heart rate of 140 bpm and Twin B weighs 4lbs. 2 oz., heart rate of 155 bpm. Fun fact: Their accumulative weight is what Ian weighed when he was born! They are getting so strong. It is fun watching my tummy ripple with their every movements.

My status: I find it increasingly difficult to get comfortable. Stretch marks are now visible, my ankles have discovered how to retain water, I've been experiencing braxton hicks, and so far I've gained 45 lbs. However, in the grand scheme of things, it is not bad at all. I am not suffering. I am enjoying every bit & can't believe I only have a few weeks left before I hold my little miracles!

Ian status: Ian is busy with work, but still finds time to pamper & care for me. He is undoubtedly going to be a wonderful father! He is making last minute preparations for the twins' arrival.

Not exactly sure how anyone can really be prepared for the huge responsibility of caring for 2 infants at once, but we will do our best & trust the Lord for the rest! We are so blessed!

31 weeks!

Almost there! Can't do much and contractions aren't pleasant, but I'm hangin' in there. They're getting really heavy. Sleep is my very best friend. Next appointment is on the 10th. Trusting the unknown to the God I know.
